Dear friends,
Earlier in spring this year I wrote and recorded a few songs during my artist in residence at the wooden cabin, Road Books, and the stone barn at Dereenacappera, Cork, Ireland. As soon as I was back in the UK I was off again to Lammas Earth Centre in Wales to volunteer with Hoppi and Tao on the land. I also made great use of this time to develop my own melodies for many of the Buddhist and Hindu mantras inspired from my daily mantra club hosted by Lucidia and Rafael (Shrinari) I recommend it so much as a very beautiful heart expanding start to your day.
On my last night at Lammas we had a wonderful Kirtan evening collaborating with Mani and Ash Hirani from the Veda Soul Company at the Earth Centre. So much gratitude to them both for helping to create such a lovely evening and their support for the journey back to Hampshire. And so much gratitude to Hoppi and Tao for a fab four months on the land and offering their beautiful sacred temple to sing together. I’m so looking forward to recording these mantras soon…
In the mean time I would love to share my new album with you which includes the songs I wrote earlier this year and some sweet flute melodies responding to birdsong in different landscapes. Some of these were recorded on location from the coasts of Cornwall to the woodlands of Hampshire. As I was working on the order of the songs for the album, the perfect name for the album came to me after researching Buddhist and Hindu deities. The Heart Jewel.
