Sunlight Meditation: Praise To The Light Of The Sun

Dear friends,

the recording of Praise To The Light Of The Sun from our Elemental Song Gathering For Peace and Unity is now available to listen to for free on Insight Timer. Thanks to my dear friend Vikki Henderson at Soul Energy Alchemy for offering a guided meditation to gently take us into this sunlight song and the opportunity to it sing together. It’s so wonderful to see how this has unfolded from the seed of an idea into a beautiful 22 minute nourishing meditation and song with the voices of a beautiful heart-centred group of women who were invited to sing with us in community, in harmony. Thank you, Vikki, Becky, Bianca, Maria, Suzy, and Emma. They heard the song for the first time and, after only a few renditions, I recorded their voices that same day.

“I felt so empowered”

One woman was a little apprehensive about recording her vocals as she had been told as a child that she couldn’t sing. I encouraged her to just be her natural self and enjoy the process. I asked her afterwards how she felt and she said she felt so empowered. She really enjoyed the process and let go of the old story. It was beautiful to see her blossom into the song and the joy of everyone coming together to share their voices. This is community. This is connection. This is the joy of sharing in our uniqueness and being together as one.

Autumn Equinox - Postcard

Dear Silver Birch friends 💚

I went for a cycle yesterday afternoon breathing in the fresh air from the beautiful oak trees. So many acorns this year!

The strong breeze created such gorgeous rich crisp rustling from the leaves. The fallen branches are perfect percussion at this time of year as the leaves are drying out with the acorn caps still attached.

Similar in sound to the Peruvian Chakapa used for shamanic journeying the oak branches and leaves bring a gentle soothing rythmn and I look forward to sharing my oak explorations for your Autumn Postcard very soon.

Autumn Equinox - Melodic Meditation

Dear friends, I’m very excited to be sharing more elemental songs and mantras of the heart for our next Melodic Meditation on the Autumn Equinox. It’s a beautiful time of the year to gather and set intentions. The mornings are becoming a little cooler so there will be herbal tea, cushions and blankets avaialble to keep cosy and warm. We will bring extra warmth with songs to nourish and uplift our hearts and souls.

Elemental Songs

I mentioned in my last post how we came together to sing elemental songs for peace and unity at Withybrook, Warwickshire. We had the wildness of wind, the flickering of fire and sparkle of sunshine, the sprinkle of rain and grounding of earth, allowing a beautiful flow of energy for the afternoon.

This gathering was a little different as we sang elemental songs and Buddhist and Hindu inspired mantras in English and in the spirit of Kirtan with call and response. It was really lovely and accessible for everyone who attended the gathering on Sunday so I'm looking forward to sharing in this way for our next Melodic Meditation to open this up to those that are more comfortable singing songs in English. I absolutely love singing Sanskrit mantras and I know some of you do too and I will be weaving some of these with the elemental songs for the Autumn Equinox gathering. I look forward to seeing you at The Centre Of Complementary Medicine on Sunday 21st September.

Light Of The Sun - Elemental Gathering

Last Sunday we came together to sing elemental songs for peace and unity. We had a beautiful afternoon at wonderful Vikki Henderson's Soul Energy Alchemy nature infused home, in Withybrook, Warwickshire.

The element of air was very strong on Sunday and we gave so much gratitude to her with our voices as she blessed us with her strength and vitality. We set intentions and gave thanks to the fire by the woods. Here’s a little snippet on Instagram.

Thank you Vikki for hosting the afternoon with your nourishing presence and keeping the fire lit and sustaining us with the most delicious home grown herbal teas. And thank you to everyone else who joined the gathering, gifting the space with your delightful voices and joyful energy.  Some participated in the additional optional recording session on a song I composed for this summer’s solstice. Remarkably, they had only heard the song for the first time on Sunday, and we sang it together just once before recording, and then one or two takes each to record their vocals. I’ve been editing the song this week to bring everyone’s vocals together ready to share on the Corn Moon with all those who took part on the day. Perfect timing for the completion and sharing of this song. I’m truly in awe of everyone who joined in. It’s sounding so lovely. A fun, experimental and wonderful collaboration!
